East Mids Crypto was founded in March 2018 as a central point of reference for all Cryptocurrency and Blockchain enthusiasts around the East Midlands area of the UK.
We grow week by week as we continue our efforts to help local people meet other like-minded community members to network, socialise, and learn. We are always seeking out opportunities to help connect local people and groups with each other.
Although we are primarily a local group, we have active members from all over the world in our social media channels. Anyone is more than welcome to get involved where ever you are located.
We are zero profit and run this group purely as a hobby with no revenue or income from sponsors or advertising. (If you like what we do and want to support us you could consider a small donation to the donation addresses at the bottom of the page).
Because we run this group for free with just our passion for cryptocurrency to drive us, all of this the information on this site is purely based on the views and opinions of the admin. I am an engineer with a keen interest in technology.
I am always keen to learn and spend a lot of my free time researching various aspects of computing and electronics.
My greatest passion lies in Cryptocurrency and Blockchain, the technology behind it.
I got involved in the crypto space around Mid 2017 and immediately became fascinated.
I’m by no means an expert in the field and the more I learn the more I realise how much I don’t know. This is what drives me to learn more and deepen my understanding.
It’s the technology aspect of Cryptocurrency that fascinates me most, but I am also very interested in the huge potential I feel it has to change the world for the better by allowing economic and financial inclusion of the unbanked population of the world.
Although the trading aspect of Crypto interests me, it’s not something I have any real knowledge of. It’s on my to-do list to learn but I find reading about technology far more captivating.
My work on designing, building, and developing this website is mostly a learning opportunity for me.
As you can probably tell I’m fairly inexperienced in web design and HTML coding. I decided to have a go at putting something together as an opportunity to learn more and at the same time hope to provide some useful information and resources to anyone with an interest in Cryptocurrency.

I started out in computers after leaving school but quickly moved into a management role within a small family business.
Although I have been in crypto since the middle of 2017, I’d be the first to admit I have limited understanding when it comes to the tech side of it all but I have a keen interest in the economic side.
For a while I have been against global government policies that allow constant Quantitative Easing to fund continual vast overspending. I have always believed there to be a better way, a way not controlled by governments but by the people.
Crypto is the closest we have come to a new financial revolution and it’s great to be a part of it.
I’m mainly a holder but have traded a little over the years (although I’m certainly no expert) but I’m a big advocate of never investing more than you can afford to lose. This is still a new industry and a very volatile one but for those who like a little adventure in life, it’s also a very exciting one.
